SAXTON NUCLEAR EXPERIMENTAL CORPORATION ANNUAI, REPORT For the Period January 1, 1978 - December 31, 1978
/
790312033o
. Annual Report in compliance with Paragraph B.5.b of the Technical Speci-fications:
1.
Information relating to changes in those staff positions that are designated as being responsible for the deactivated facility:
There have been no changes during this report period.
2.
A summary of entries into the Containment Vessel or Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility and reasons for entry:
Quarterly inspections which required entry into the Containment Vessel and Radioactive Waste Disposa.'.
Facility were conducted on March 30, June 29, September 28, and December 29, 1978.
3.
A summary of maintenance and design changes made to the deactivated facility:
There have been no changes during this report period.
4.
Results of surveys of radioactive levels and of water sample analyses:
Four surveys of the facility were made during this report period.
Radiation levels at the exclusion fence were le:s than 01. mr/hr.;
radiation levels inside the Containment Vessel, aoove elevation 812, were generally less than 0.1 mr/hr.; radiation levels on the breather pipe filter were less than 0.1 mr/hr.; radiation surveys of the 20 permanentiv marked survey points were less than 0.4 mr/hr.
. i Analyses of the resident wt 'er in the TWDF in general indicates that the gross Beta-Gamma activity is about
-6 2.5 x 10 4(Ci/cc.
Inspection of the Containment Vessel lower levels indicates the vessel is dry and f ee of water.
5.
A summary of the performaace of security and surveillance measures:
There have been no attempted break-ins, vandalism, or other unusual events at the facility since decommissioning.
