Dear Mr. Varga:
In the hbtter of the Application of
)
Docket Nos. 50-327 Tennessee Valley Authority
)
50-328 The Materials Engineering Branch reviewer, during a telephone conversation with TVA on January 24, 1979, requested information concerning the fluence level received by the lower shell weld of the reactor vessel after one effective full power year. Westing'aouse has conservatively recalculated the fluence for the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (gNP) unit 1lowershellweld 17 at the intetaal surface to be 6.8 x 10 n/cm (E>lMeV) after one effective full power year.
This value is lower than the value originally pro-vided for the SNP Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR), figure 5.2-l!.
The FSAR will be revised to show the current specific fluence predie-tion for the unit 1 and unit 2 cores in Amendment 60.
Very truly yours,
[
