IN RESPONSE REFER Cedar Rapids, IA 52403 TO F0IA-79-7

Dear Mr. Wallin:

This is in response to your letter dated January 6,1979, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, a copy of Mark I Containment Short Term Program Safety Evaluation Report, NUREG-0408, dated December 1977.

A copy of the requested report is available for purchase at a cost of $6.50 from the National Technical Information Service (NiiS),

Springfield, Virginia 22161. For your information, reports of a generic nature, including most NUREG reports, are not placed in NRC Local Public Document Rooms (LPDRs) because of space limitations in the individual LPDRs.

Only records which specifically relate to a particular nuclear power plant are placed in an LPDR.

In addition to NTIS, NUREG reports are available at the NRC Public Document Room in Washington, DC and in approximately 450 U.S.

Depository Libraries located throughout the United States.

It is my understanding that the University of Iowa Library and the University of Iowa Law Library, Iowa City, Iowa carry copies of NUREG reports.

Sin r ty, /

J. M. Felton, Director Division of Rules & Records Office of Administration 7902130152
