Dear Sir:

Subject:

Maine Yankee's Modified Amended Security Plan (MASP)

Attached is the latest revision of the Maine Yankee Modified Arended Security Plan (MASP). It has been revised in accordance with the require-ments of 10CFR73.55 and reflects comments on earlier versions received from NRC Staff reviewers. To the best of our kuowledge, this final version incorporates resolutions whic'. have been cutually agreed upon by Maine Yankee and the NRC Staff renewers of all previously identified deficiencies.

We have arbitrarily identified these revisions as being in response to " Phase 3 Questions" and have so marked the MASP cover page. We have identified these latest changes with a vertical line on the right margin of the affected pages. The revised MASP is considered proprietary in-formation and should be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10CFR2.790. This document (MASP) upon its implementation date or February 23, 1979, shall thereafter be referred to as The Maine Yankee Security Plan.

Maine Yankee intends to submit its Contingency Plan in the near future pursuant to 10CFR73.40. Wh,en approved, this Contingency 1-lan will replace the existing Chapter 8 in the enclosed MASP. It is expected that this change will be made pursuant to 10CFR50.54(p).

We trust this information will be satisfactory. However, if there are any questions, please contact Mr. John H. Garrity of the Maine Yankee corporate offices in Augusta, Maine, telephone (207) 623-3521, extension 10 59-Cfg ffj
