PAS Costniner - This container is the primary containment vessel which holds the s7/ent core cartridge during transport and is basically a cylindrical shell having an inside opening of approximately 50 inches with one end of the container closed by an 8 inch thick, flat door that is hinged to a door frame. Four bolts and two cables for securing the door and opening or closing it are housed within six tubes that are attached to the outside diameter of tht shell. Tne barrel of c

the container is a velded, stainless steel cylinder, 2 inches thick, and approximately 12 feet long. Stainless steel flenges, 60 inches in diameter, 2 inches thick, are velded to the top and bottom ends of the barrel. The bottom

/

.tvo-thirds of the container is shielded with lead that is 812 inches thick for a height of 6 feet; the lead thickness then reduces over a height of 1 foot 10 inches to a thickness of 1 inch, with the 1 inch thickness extending up for six more inches.
