Dear Mr. Rubenstein:
The purpose of this letter is to request the concurrence of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in the use of ASME Section III Code Case N-242 entitled " Materials Certification", for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. This code case is not currently listed in Regulatory Guide 1.84 or 1.85.
It was issued in order to resolve misinterpretations relating specifically to certification of code materials.
In addition to complying with the requirements of the code case, a list of all systems utilizing materials that use the code case will be incorporated into the FSAR.
