" THERMAL-0VERLOAD PROTECTION FOR MOTORS OF MOTOR-0PERATEIf VALVES," RESP 3NSE TO REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Consumers Power Company was requested by NRC letter dated October 9,1979 to provide a copy of the limit switch development for valves shown on CP Co Drawing 0740G30103. The NRC letter also requested an indication of whether the notation "0T/LS" (open torque / limit switch) on this drawing referred to torque or limit switches.
Forwarded as an attachment to this letter is the requested limit switch development.
Information currently available indicates that the switches identified as "0T/LS" and "CT/LS" are configured to perform as torque switches; this will be verified at a further outage.
If this verification identifies tnat these switches are functioning as limit switches, we will so notify you.
