An investigation of TMI-1 revealed no GE type CR 120A relays in use en cur h gineered Safeguards or Reactor Protection Syste=s. We have no relays of this type en order, but the e are five in stock.
The investigation did reveal that sixteen CR120A relays are used on the radicactive vaste filter system and tvc are used en the Count Ecc: Meter Generater Set (MG-Set).
The relays in the vaste filter syste= and the MS-Set are in a 1ccatien such that if a contact ar retainer vere to ignite, it vould net damage any safety related cen-ponents.
Furchase requisiticn 100-9052 has been initiated for the purchase of the self-extinguishing Valex centact retainer arms.
3ecause the 7alcx and the Celeen can
=ct otherwise be distinguished, an identifying nark vill be nade en the Valcx re-tainer before they are installed en the 23 relays identified above.
Ihe centact retainer arms are scheduled to be changed by June 1, 1973.
