Dear Sir:
Docket No. 50-289 Operating License DPR-50 This letter is sub=itted as a conclusien to our letters cf September 30, and October 11, 197h, which pertained to Abnormal Occuirence Th-17. You will recall that this Abnor=al Occurrence involved a higher-than-allowed qucntity of NaCH in the Sodium Hydroxide Tank of the Reacter Ruilding Spray System.
As a result of the analyses which were begun following the cccurrence, it has been deter =ined that the higher-than-allowed quantity of NaOH in the Sodium Hydroxide Tank did not constitute a threat to the health and safety of the public. This determinaticn is based en cur cenclusicn that if the total higher-than-alleved quantity of NaOH (i.e.,17,677 pounds) had been injected during post-accident emergency core cooling conditiens, the pH of the reactor building surp would have not exceeded the design pH limit of 10.
