- 1. H. Shewaaker, Structural Engineering, Branch, DRS CONSTRUCTION PROBLEM: REPAIR OF REINFORCING BARS THREE MILE ISLAND EUCIIAR STATION UNIT 1, DOCKET Ho. 50-289 On February 16,1972.Dr. A. Gluckmann had a telephone conversation with Dr. C. P. Siess on the repairs of the ring girder for the Three Mila Island Nuclear Station Unit 1.
Dr. C. Siess expressed his concern about repairing damaged reinforcing bars by velding as it may result in high stress concentration.
s Dr. Siesa suggested that this repair practico be avoided and prohibited.
