January 18, 1973 On August 28, 1972, the Containment Systems Branch provided us with an evaluation of the combustible gas control system for the SER of TMI-1.
The Site Analysis Branch, using the information provided, calculated the dases resulting from hydrogen purse begin of purge:
30 days after accident purge rate:
15 cfm duration of purge:
30 days thyroid dose 5.56 rem whole body dose 0.35 rem In Amendment 35 (Supplement 1, Part II to the FSAR), dated December 19, 1972, the applicant revised the smount of alminism present in the containment from 54.1 lbs. to 234 lbs. of aluminum.
We request that you reanalyse the requirements for hydrogen purge in view of this revision and provide the Site Analysis Branch with the necessary information to perform the dose calculations.
