4 NOTE TO FILES-On June 16, 1973, I telephoned Mr. Jack McPhillips at the control tower of Harrisburg International Airport (HIA) to determine the current usage of HIA by large aircraft (>200,000 lbs). Jack gave me the following information:

Civil Aviation:

1.

Scheduled: TWA Flight 16, once (2 movements) per day, uenally a 707, occasionally a 727.

2.

Nonscheduled: World Airways, Modern Airways, Saturn Airways, and Capital Airways, a mixture of DC-8, 707, and Convair 990 aircraft. The total, including the preceding TWA Flight 16, is 30-50 movements per week.

3.

Starting in late June, World Airways will start using the Boeing 747 at the rate of 3-4 flights per month.

Military:

1.

The C-5A uses HIA about once every ten days.

The totals would then ecme to:

Movements /vear 1.

DC-8, B-707, C-990 2500 (Based en 50/ week) 2.

B-747 100 (Based on 4/ month) 3.

C-5A 100 Total 2700
