O'Reilly, Chief, Reactor Inspectiori and Enforcement Branch, Division of Compliance, HQ METROPOLITAN EDISON COMPANY DOCKET NO. 50-298 The attached report by the assigned inspector of a visit on August 22, 1968 to the subject facility is forwarded for in-formation.
This visit was the initial visit to the site and included a meeting with management to discuss the Compliance program.
The 3enior Reactor Inspector acccmpanied the assigned inspector on the visit.
The licensee management expressed a strong desire and intention to provide a quality assurance program which will be effective.
An example of this commitment is the removal of about 475 cubic yar'ds of concrete from the containment foundation after test cylinder results were found to be erratic.
