Dear Mr. Stello:

Enclosed is Alabama Power Company's response to the information request on PWR feedwater lines dated May 25, 1979. This response is for Plant Farley - Units 1 and 2.

Design Item 1: Provide as-built piping on isometric drawings of the feedwater line to steam generator sparger wi+.hin containment. Show details of the design such as dimensions, pipe schedule, support

, type and locations, pipe restraints, and valves.

t Enclosed are as-built isometrics 186 and 187 with hanger loca-tions for Plant Farley-Unit 1 and isometrics 2-9 and 2-10 with hanger locations for Unit 2. Also enclosed is Rev. 5 to the piping class sheet which describes the type of material used to fabricate the pipe.

Design Item 2: Provide the results of any stress or fatigue analyses which were performed for this system.

Also enclosed are isometrics of Units 1 and 2 with corresponding tables of values for stress points.

Fabrication History: Supply a list of the materials for the steam generator (Item 1) sparger, steam generator feedwater nozzles and feedwater piping within containment.

Feedwater piping inside containment is schedule 100, SA-106, Grade B. The feedwater ring and thermal sleeve are also made of this material. The feedwater nozzle is made of SA-508, Class 2.

2309 191 Fabrication History: Provide the details of the welding processes used to make (Item 2) the nozzle-to-pipe, pipe-to-sparger, and piping welds.
