APR 41979 Mr. James E. Leiss, Director Center for Radiation Research National Bureau of Standards Washington, D. C.
20234
Dear Jim:
Phil Plato at the University of Michigan (UM) recently sent to me copies of correspondence between Dr. Plato and one of the personnel dosimetry processors participating in the pilot study indicating the processor's belief that the dose delivered by the UM to his dosimeters may have been in error, and Dr. Plato's rebuttal. As you know, the NRC staff depends upon the NBS to verify the performance of the Uti in this study.
I would appreciate receiving from you the position of the NBS regarding the questions raised by the processor.
Sincerely, f
+/8!
