Vallecitos Nuclear Center - Request to Suspend License Enclosed for your information is a copy of a letter from the Tri-City Ecology Center, Fremont, California, requesting the. Commission to suspend activities under License No. SNM-960 at the Vallecitos Nuclear Center. This request is similar to one received earlier from the Friends of the Earth, requesting license suspension, removal of plutonium from the site and public hearings on seismic conditions at Vallecitos.

The two petitions are being consolidated for consideration.

Th'e Tri-City Ecology C. enter is aware of.the "new" geo-Icgical findings discovered by tPe NRC on December 5th and 6th,19p8 at the General Electric Test Reactor at Vallecitos Nuclear Center, Pleasanton, California.

These recent dis-coveries'present even gr. eater hazards and risks to the health and safety of the public than was previously thought.

'In light of these findings, we request the suspension of activities under license SNM-960.
