REPORT OF MEETING 0F MARCH 2,1979, WITH THE STAFF 0F TECO CONCERNING THE SEISMIC REANALYSIS OF DAVIS BESSE, UNIT 1 Introductio, This meeting was requested by TEC0 for the purpose cf discussing the staff guidelines which were sent to TECO by letter dated J<.nuary 30, 1979. The attendees of the meeting are listed in.
Conclusions TECO is planning for another me' ting with the staff during the week of March 5 to present results of their analysis of the amount of peak broadening of the response spectra analysis.
In this analysis they would be using the as-built conditions rather than the design conditions.
Additiot:al information was provided by TECO cencerning pipe supports.
TEC0 explained that they were only analyzing items which are not enveloped in the prior analysis (.15 g) for the response spectra of the.29 seismic event.
TECO indicated that the schedule for completion was clanned for the end of May, but this would possibly change because of the impact of the response spectra analysis required.
Discussion TECO is directing their reanalysis to all ' safe shutdown ecuioment, and snutdown heat removal ecuipment (cold shutdcwns).

Toledo Edison Comcany TEC0 would develop a scheme of displaying the critical seismic stresses for the elements of the hangers.
TECO will incorporate the special factor which was requested in the table of critical elements (c-b), Enclosure 2, letter dated January 30, 1979.
a The staff indicated that the planned visit to the plant can be during normal operation.
Upon completion of our review the staff will make a presentation to the ACRS and TECO should plan to attend. Enclosure 2 provides examples of the format that TEC0 plans to use for presenting results.
