7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-254 COMMONWEALTH EDISON COMPANY AND IOWA-ILLIN0IS GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued Amendment No. 49 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-29, issued to Comonwealth Edison Company and Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company which revised Technical Specifications for operation of Quad Citics Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. I located in Rock Island County, Illinois.
The amendment is effective January 14, 1979.
The amendment revises the Technical Specifications to extend the period required to establish an inerted atmosphere in the containment beyond 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br />. The extension is from 10 P.M. January 14, 1979 to a time no later than midnight January 21, 1979.
The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comission's rales and regulations. The Comission has made appro-priate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior public notice of the amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
The Comission has determined that the issuance of the amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Section 51.5(d)(4), an environmental impact statement or negative 7% ;u56/34
. declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of the amendment.
