Dear Mr. Engelken:

This is in response to your eters dated September 29 and November 24, 1978, which transmitted IE Bulletins No. 78-12 and No.78-12A concerning atypical weld material in reactor pressure vessel welds.

As discussed with Mr. J. D. Woessner of your staff, we plan to propose a schedule for sub-mission of this information af ter the seismic issues that are now currently being studied have been re-solved for Humboldt Bay Power Plant Unit No. 3.

Very truly yours, r
