LACROSSESOLU110NS September 11, 2019 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-0001 La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor Facility Operating License No. DPR-45 NRC Docket Nos. 50-409 and 72-046

Subject:

Final Status Survey (FSS) Final Report - Phase 1 LC-2019-0040 The La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR) Restoration Project License Termination Plan (L TP) describes the process of releasing land for unrestricted use. L TP Section 5.11 states that the FSS Final Report will be provided to the NRC in phases as remediation and FSS are completed with related portions of the site. contains the LACBWR Restoration Project FSS Final Report - Phase 1. The Phase 1 FSS Final Report encompasses open land areas, excavations and structure basements. The report specifically addresses four (4) sub-grade excavation survey units, three (3) open land survey units, and two (2) structure basement survey units. The report contains a compilation of all nine (9) Release Records that are within the Phase 1 scope.

To minimize the incorporation of redundant historical assessment and other FSS program information, and to facilitate potential phased releases from the current license, FSS Final Reports will be prepared in a phased approach. LACBWR estimates that a total of three (3) FSS Final Reports will be generated and submitted to the NRC during the decommissioning project.

LACBWR hereby requests the NRC review the attached Phase 1 FSS Final Report for acceptance of this portion of the site final radiological survey by January 9, 2020.
