In response to your ingliry of October 26, the Com. mission wishes to advise that, consistent with Title 31, Section 63Sa. of the U. 5. Code, its policy precludes use of government vehicles to crive of=iciais to and from home or the assignment of vehicles for exclusive use of any official of the Co:rission.
The answers to your specific questions are as follows:

If an official is driven to and from home, in view of Title 31, Section 638a, wnat is the specific legai justification fcr the practice?

If an official not exempted by Title 31, Section 63Sa, is driven to and from home how is the practice justified in view of the energy shortage and the fact that such a practice means four trips a day instead of two trips a day?
