M NRC "DATABANK" ON WASTE DISPOSAL cv The NRC Databank of documents related to nuclear waste storage and disposal as referenced in 44 Fed. Rec. 61372 will be located in the Commission's Public Document Room (PDR) at 1717 H Street, NW., Washington, DC, and will include the following sets of documents:
1.
Regular collection of orders, issuances, submissions, corres-pondence, etc., generated by or communicated to NRC and directly related to FR 50, 51 (44 Fed. Reg. 61372).
2.
Collection of technical documents and reports contaiting
" relevant information on waste storage and disposal" com-piled by the NRC staff (44 Fed. Reg. 61374), including:
la.
The Report by the Interagency Review Group on Waste Management, TID-29442.
b.
The Department of Energy's Draft GEIS on Uaste Management c.
'Vther principal works" -- estimated at 130 or more documents 3.
Collection of an estimated 300 technical documents and reports referenced in the DOE submission.
There is expected to be overlap between this set of documents and the docu-ments in Item 12.

Bibliographies:
a.
NRC is contributing an extensive bibliography on the subject of waste disposal, Radioactive W ste Processing a
and Discosal, which includes TID-3311 plus supplements published between 1958 and 1980.
This multi-volume bibliography will contain 19,000 references from the Nuclear Science Abstracts and Energy Data Bases indexed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Technical Information Center (ORNL, TIC) from the late 1950's up to November 1979.
b.
DOE's Bibliography on waste submitted under cover letter from Omer F.
Brown, Office of the General Counsel, DOE, to Marshall E. Miller dated January 18, 1980.
This bibliography contains 11,922 references from the Nuclear Science Abstracts, The Energy Data Base, and tuo of the Ecological Sciences Information Center's Data Bases indexed from 1967 to late 1979.

2 The following is an estimated breakdown of the availability of documents referenced in these bibliographies based on a small sample chosen from the DOE Bibliography (4b).
10% -- Available within the NRC 's PDR.
44% -- Available at National Technical Information Service (N, TIS ).
26% -- Available through normal channels:
Technical Jour-nals at major libraries, especially the Library of Congress, and Conference Proceedings published by associations or technical societies.
These are the types of documents which are copyrighted and could not be held in the PDR for mass reproduction by the PDR 's reproduction contractor.
22% -- Questionable availability -- most of these obscure references are foreign (68%).
Depending on the docu-ments, they might be at ORNL or at the Library of Congress.
Those documents, which are in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) will be available for reading and/or reproduction.
The PDR staff will respond to phone and letter request as well as on-site references service.
Contract reproduction services are available at S.08/page for hard copy or S.25 for diazo copies of materials available on microfiche.
