Sub m quently, further notifications regarding the cettlement of thene structures, related investigations and remedial actionc proposed and undertaken by the Company were sent to you purcutuit to 10 CFR 50.55(c) on November 7, 1978, December 21, '978, January 5,1979, February 23, 1979, April 3, 1979, June 25, 1979, August 10, 1979 and September 5, 1979 In a letter from you to H D Thornburg cated November 1,1978, the settlement issue was trannferred to NRR for evaluation and resolution.
The NRR Staff carried en their review through incuance of a 50 5h(f) requent on March 21, 19'(9 and cupplemental queatuan on Novenber 19, 3979 The Company recponded to Lhoce questions purcuant to 10 CFR 50.Sh(f) on April 2h, 1979, May 31, 1979, July 9,1979, September 13, 1979 and November 13, 1979 On December 6, 1979 an Order Modifying the Construction Permits vac sent to the Ccmpany.
On December 19, 1979, the Company filed Amendment 72 to its application for Conntruction Permita and Operating Licences for the liidland Plant.
That amendment detai]n the history of the coils cettlement issue and the proposed remedial actionn for which Conaniccion approval is neucht.
Further tenendment; vill provide more detail in responce to the Staff's 50.Sh(f) questions.
Thus, thic letter constituten the Company 's fina) notification regarding the above-deceribed cettlement issue purnuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e).
Resolution of thic incue vill occur as a result of Commincion action redarding Amendment 72 to the application, after appropriate review and incuance of a Safety Evaluation Report directed specifically to the cettlement iccue.
