Dear Mr. Fishkin:

This is in response to your letter dated January 26, 1980 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, information related to NRC's advisement of E. R. Squibb & Sons, Inc. that a Squibb representative may have violated NRC regulations.

As a result of a report from E. R. Squibb & Son;, Inc. concerning unauthorized actions by one of their employees, t special inspection by the NRC's Region I Office revealed that E. R. Squibb & Sons, Inc. was in compliance with NRC's regulations and that no enforcement action against the company was appropriate.

(A copy of this inspection report was previously provided to you).

The " advisement" mentioned in jour letter consisted of a telephone call between the Region I inspector and a representative of E. R. Squibb &

Sons, Inc. inforning them of the inspection results.

Region I can find no documentation of the telephone call, but are relying on the memortes of the inspector and his supervisor.

Sincerely, J. M. Felton, Director Division of Rules and Records Office of Adainistration
