SUBJECT:

Waterford SES Unit 3 Docket No. 50-382 Potential Construction Deficiency Report Defective Top Cover Gaskets NAMCO EA-180 Limit Switches

Reference:

LPL 12566 dated November 3, 1979

Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

We have completed our review of the subject potential construction deficiency concerning the subject NAMCO EA-180 Limit Switches. NAMCO has informed us that if these switches are in a continuous ambient temperature of 1750F or less, no action is necessary. Since the normal ambient temperature in the Waterford 3 SES Reactor Containment Building is less than 175 F, we have determined that no problem exists and this will not be considered a reportable construction deficiency.

Yours very truly, D. L. Aswell ,
