Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334 Delayed Submittal of Emergency Preparedness Plan Gentlemen:

As you may be aware, Duquesne Light Company has hired an outsid.e consulting firm to review the existing Beaver Valley Power Station Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP) and to prepare a revised plan which meets current requirements. The preparation of this updated EPP is complicated by the fact that the 10 mile area surrounding the plant includes three states with the attendent complexity associated with the review and update or preparation of the state EPPs.

Work on the site EPP is not expected to be completed until March 10, 1980 and, therefore, it is requested that an extension in submission date to March 10, 1980 for the site EPP be granted.

Very truly yours, C. N. Dunn, Vice President Operations i n i? .',gi cg /Jo43
