BROOKHAVEN NATIONAL LABORATORY (ENL) IECHiiICAL ASSISTANCE ON ThE MARK I CONTAINMENT ASSESSMENT TO THE DIVISION OF OPERATING REACTORS This letter provides guidance and funding to BNL to support the Division of Operating Reactors in the evaluation of Mark I Containment Suppression Pool Hydrodynaqic Loads. The scope of work and schedule for this program remain unchanged from that specified in our letter of November 16, 1978, as supplemented by our letter of May 2,1979.

The FY 1979 CH Financial Plan should be modified to include an additional S50,000 for this work under B&R 20 19 04 032, FIN A3108. This funding increase is necessary to provide sufficient resources to complete the original work scope.

The Division of Operating Reactors technical contact for this program is Chris Grimes (301-492-7110). The enclosed NRC Form 173, Standard Order for DOE Work, for an additional $60,000 is hereby submitted in accordance with Section III.B.2 of the DOE /NRC Memorandum of Understanding of February 24, 1978.
