,, i c _ iTI3 MEMORANDUM FOR

E. G. Case, Chairman Techcical Activities Steering Committee FROM:

S. H. Hanauer, Director Unresolved Safety Issues Program

SUBJECT:

REVISION 2 TO TASK ACTION PLANS A-3, A-4, AND A-5 Enclosed is Revision 2 to Task Action Plans A-3, A-4, and A-5, " Westing-house, Combustion Engineering, and Babcock and Wilcox Steam Generator Tube Integrity," which I have approved. 'he revisions include those necessary to combine the three Task Action Plans into one document.

This was done because of the similarity and substantial overlap of the technical work being performed for the three tasks. We have already combined the schedules into one in the Aqua Book and plan to issue a single NUREG document at the conclusion of the program. The technical subtasks in this plan are essentially the same as those that were described in the original TAP's. However, progress to date has allowed better definition of the subtasks and a more meaningful presentation of the interactions between the subtasks. Changes are marked by a bar in t'le right hand margin. An earlier draft of this revision has been reviewed by the appropriate h2R branches and their comments have been incor-porated or resolved. This proposed revision has been concurred in by the Acting Director, D0R (the Lead Division).

Because there have been no significant technical changes to the tasks, I do not believe that approval by the full Technical Activities Steering Cormittee is necessary.

Please advise me as to whether or not you concur.
