SUBJECT:
JUNE 27, 1979 MEETING REGARDING APPROACH FOR EVALUATING POSTULATED ACCIDENTS COINCIDENT WITH MSLB The following work assignments were made at (or shortly following) the June 27, 1979 meeting:
1.
Len Soffer will investigate possible leak paths following a large LOCA plus S/G tube ruptures to determine if LOCA dose cales could be signi-ficantly affected by this scenario.
2.
Krys Parczewski will prepare a work scope for ECCS performance analysis for large LOCA plus S/G tube ruptures. The work will be performed by EG&G.
3.
Fuat Odar will get BNL analyses tf MSLB plus S/G tube ruptures.
4.
Fuat Odar will check with BNL to assure that hot zero power is the worst case from the standpoint of fuel failures.
5.
John Zwolinski will take a quick look to see if MSLB plus S/G tube rupturcs can be of any concern regarding containment pressure analyses.
6.
Jack Stresnider will gather and distribute copier of trifo on ISI.
7.
Krys Parczewski will talk to Coffman re: the possibility of developing better ways of detenning fuel failures during a MSLB. Using DNB was believed to be tco conservative.
8.
Jack Strosnider and Frank Almeter will prepare an outline of their NUREG reports in order to get a better handle on who has to do what and when.

. JUN 2 91979 The following was added afxer the meeting:
9.
Jack and Frank will work on alternative plugging and inspection criteria for possible use should the MSLB analyses suggest very restricted in-spectior, and plugging practices. The plugging criteria currently used appear very conservative in light of recent experimental results.
The next meeti;;g on this subject has been tentatively planned for July 31, 1979 at 9:00 in Steve Hanauer's c?fice.
