nadification Nc. 2-1 Supplemental Agreement to Contract No. NRC-04-77-134 SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN VIRGINIA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE AND STATE UNIVERSITY AND THE U. S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY CCMMISSION THIS SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT, effective the 1st day of July,1978 by and between the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (hereinafter referred to as the "Gcvernment"), as represented by the UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY CCMMISSION (hereinafter referred to as the " Commission"), and VIRGINIA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE AND STATE UNIVERSITY (hereinafter referred to as the " Contractor"),
WITNESSETH THAT:
WHEREAS, the parties desire to modify Contract No. NRC-04-77-134 as hereinafter provided, and this supplemental agreement is authorized by law, including the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974, as amended, and the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, said contract is hereby modified as follows:
1.
This Modification No. 2-1 replaces previous Modification Nos. I and 2 in their entireties and sets forth the following revisions and/or adjustments to the Agreement as of this Modification's effective date of July 1,1978:
A.
Appendix A, attached to this supplemental agreement and made a part hereof, provides for the research to be performed by the Contractor during the contract period specified therein.
B.
In Article II - The Period of Performance, the date " June 30, 1979" is substituted for the date " June 30, 1978".
C.
In Article III - Consideration, the sum "$141,973.00" is substituted for the sum "574,740.00".
2.
for continuity in the Agreement's scope of work and its subsequent support cost determinations, the chronology of this Agreement shall be as follows:
the original period, Modification Nc. 2-1, Modi fication No. 3, etc.

Bollinger - 15% of his time for 12 months Article A-III The total estimated cost of items undir A-II(a) above for the contract period stated in this Appendix A is $67,233.00; the Commission will pay 100 percent of the actual costs of these items incurred during the contract period stated in this Appendix A, subject to the provisions of Article -III and Article S-XXVIII.
The estimated NRC Support Cost for the contract period stated in this Appendix A is 567,213.00 The estimated NRC Support Cost is funded as follows:
