Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Stanislaus Nuclear Project, Unit No. 1, NRC Docket No. P-564A

Dear Mr. Barry:

By letter of this same date (copy enclosed), the NRC Staff has informed the Licensing Board of its objections to the " Joint Statement of Southern California Edison Company and the State of California Department of Water Resources." As you will note, the Staff identified certain documents to which it is entitled under Licensing and Appeal Board Orders concerning the subpoena which would not be produced pursuant to the terms of the " Joint Statement." The Staff believes these documents are necessary for the preparation of its case in this proceeding. Accordingly, the Staff would appreciate your informing us of your plans to produce such documents to the Staff. We would be glad to discuss any reasonable means of minimizing the burden on Edison.

Please feel free to contact me at 301-492-7619 or Ben Vogler at 301-492-7618 concerning this matter.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Very truly yours h [/
