This situaticn was described in reference 1.

After careful study of the 3&W analysis of this conditien, and based upcn their recc==endatien, CPCo has decided to incorporate a safety grede eutcestic reactor coolant pump trip syste= in the Midland design which vill ensure 10 C7R 50 Appendix K criteria vill be =et during all postclared s=all break scenarics. Cn Septe=ber 14,1979, 36W was authcrized to develop design criteria and trip icgic, and 3echtel was instructed to proceed with design and precure=ent. The schedule for cc=pletien of this effort is under develop =ent.

As identified previcus1;y, there are 16 anchers per unit. Ten anchers are located directly en the dcne with the renaining c1x anchers per unit located en the appropriate unit's ring girder. As identified in the previcus repcrte, it vos believed that the 10 dere anchers in Unit 1 and all Unit 2 anchcrs had been installed according to design drawings. Subccracnt to finding the variances in the six ring 61rder anchors, a review of field incpection reports indicated that the six ring girder anchcr: had not been inspected end that the 10 dc=e anchers, per unit, had been inspected includi:6 a validcun by the En61neering Stress Group.

As-installed dimensional details of the Unit 2 ring girder anchors were forvarded to ITT Grinnell for analysis on Septe=ber 14, 1979 Additional acticus are as follcus:
