SUBJECT:
MEETING ON RADIOLOGICAL TECH SPECS - OCTOBER 10, 1979 BACKGROUND The applicant and staff have been working together to prepare radiological tech specs for the Zimmer Nuclear Power Station.
The staff had a number of questions and comments on the draft tech specs as prepared by the applicant and the purpose of this meeting was to discuss these questions and comments.
The object was to resolve any issues prior to the applicant preparing the final version. The attendance list is enclosed.
SUMMARY
The first part of the meeting was devoted to discussion of the Offsite Dose Calculation Manual. The staff had questions and comments in the area of meteorology and dose calculations.
The applicant anticipates that he will complete the ODCM in about one month.
The second part of the meeting was devoted to discussion of the Appendix I tech specs.
Since the staff is interested in standardization of the tech specs which should enhance inspection and enforcement much of the discussion dealt with fc wat and use of standard definitions already incorporated in the standard tech spec.
The applicant will make one more submittal of the tech sper.s and hopefully all differences will be resolved.
The staff will finalize the tech spec package about four months after the final submittal of information by the applicant.
