October 19, 1979 Identification of Occurrence;
.The piping systems inspection and measurement program being conducted in response to IE Bulletin 79-1h has identified a dasanged sway strut on the "C" Reactor Feed Pump discharge line.
Sway strut 3-600-82 was found to have a cracked rod end.
Apparent Cause of Occurrencer Under investigation.
Analysis of Occurrence:
During routine T9-lh inspection procedures, a sway strut associated with the Unit 3 "C" Beactor Feed Pussp discharge line was found to have a cracked rod end. Unit 3 reactor is in the cold shutdown conditton for refueling and startup will not be initiated until the probles has been corrected.
Corrective Actient A new sway strut has been ordered to replace 3-600-82, and is expected to arrive Tuesday 10/23/T9 Corrective action will be-implemented prior to initiation of startup of Unit 3 reactor.
