'Ihree Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 Openting License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Fire Protection Program Plant modifications required by iteras 3.1.9, Fire Barrier Penetrations, and 3.1.15, Electrical Cable Penetration Seals, cf the TMI-1 Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report (FPSER) were ccepleted on April 27, 1979 The implementation date of April 27, 1979 for these projects as set forth in the NRC supplement #2 letter to the FPSER dated April 14, 1979 has been met.
In order to accomplish this work, a demonstrated and approved 3 hour3.472222e-5 days <br />8.333333e-4 hours <br />4.960317e-6 weeks <br />1.1415e-6 months <br /> rated silicone foam sealing system was util ued.
This sealing effort provides an adequate fire resistance rating for seals in piping and cable penetr~.tions as well as building construction joints in ficors, valls and ceilings identified as fire barriers in the TMI-1 Fire Hazards Analysis Report. With ccmpletion of these modifications, the penetration seals confom to the guidance presented in sections D.3.d and D.1.J of Appendix A to 3TP 9.5-1.
