Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has granted relief from certain requirements of the ASf E Code,Section XI, " Rules for Inservice Inspection of Nuclear Power Plant Components" to Metropolitan Edison Company, Jersey Central Power and Light Company and Pennsylvania Electric Company.
The relief relates te the inservice inspection (testing) progran for the Three 'iile Island fluclear Station Unit tio. 1 (the facility) located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The AS!!E Code requirements are incorporated by reference into the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Part 50.
The relief is effective as of its date of issuance.
This action provides relief from certain ASME Code Section XI inservice inspection and testing requirements determined to be imprac-tical for the facility, because compliance would result in hardships and unusual difficulties without a compensating increase in the level of quality and safety.
The request for relief complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Ccmmission's rules and regulations.
The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Sct and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in f/022c597 y f N_

Prior public notice of this action was not required since the granting of this relief from AS"E Code require-ments does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
The Commission has determined that the oranting of this relief will not result in any significant environrental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 651.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statament or neaative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with this action.
