S. Iluclear Regulatory Commission (the Comission) has issued Amendment !!o. 34 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-50, issued to Metropolitan Edison Company, Jersey Central Power and Light Company, and Pennsylvania Electric Company (the licensees), which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Three Mila Island iluclear Station, Unit f:o.1 (TMI-1) located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.
The amendment authorizes modification of Spent Fuel Pool "B"
at Tt!I-1, increasing its capacity from 174 fuel assemblies to 496 fuel assemblies, and revises the Technical Specifications appropriately.
The application for the amendment' complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act) and the Comission's rules and regulations.
The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.

The Commission has prepared an environmental impact appraisal for this action and has concluded that an environmental impact statement is not warranted because there will be no significant environmental impact attributable to the action other than that which has already been predicted and described in the Commission's Final Environmental State-ment for the facility dated December 'C2.
For further details with respect to this action, see (1) the application for amendment dated February 3,1977, as supplemented May 24 and July 21,1977,(2) Amendment tio. 34 to License No. DPR-50, (3) the Commission's rolated Safety Evaluation, and (4) the Commission's Environmental Impact Appraisal.
