Long Island Lighting Co. et al.

(Jamesport Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 & 2)

Docket Nos. 50-516 and 50-517

Dear Mr. Reveley:

As you will recall, last December the New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment remanded for further hearings Long Island Lighting Company's application for a " certificate of environmental compatability and public need" for the Jamesport facility.

The Appeal Board asks you to please inform it of the status of that re-manded proceeding, including the positions of the various participants, when an examiners'~ decision is anticipated, and the likelihood, extent and effect of further proceedings before the State Siting Board itself.

The Board would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Very truly yours, G..
