weight of six safety related valves at Surry Units 1 and 2 is p= < -
greater than that used in the piping stress analysis.
The valves E:
are 12-inch motor operated valves located in the disci.arge line of the p: T '
safety injection accumulators.
The actual weight of each valve p:t is 3950 pounds versus 3050 pounds used in the stress analysis.

The effect of this error on the piping stress analysis is not

known at this time.

The Duane Arnold Energy Center and the State of Iowa are conducting SEI a joint emergency drill today.
It is being witnessed by members of the Regional Advisory Comittee, including NRC Region III
--7 75 El (Chicago). The Region III Office is also performing an internal s"L emergency response drill in conjunction with the Duane Arnold / State drill.
