General Electric Licensing Topical Report N E DO-11209 - 04 This letter acknowledges General Electric's receipt of your July 11, 1978, letter in which the NRC accepted the above subject amended licensing topical r e po r t.
The NRC July 11, 1978, letter referenced the NRC Topical Report Evaluation in which it states that "NEDO-il209-04 commits GE to comply with the requirements of Appendix B to 10CFR, Part 50, and to follow the Regulatory Position provided by the NRC in Regulatory Guides 1.28 (June 7, 1972)...."
Since there was no reference to the alternate positions as described in Table 2-1 of the subject topical report, hir. John Gilray of your office was contacted on July 24, 1978, for confirmation of the NRC's intent. From that discussion it is our understanding that the NRC's intent is as if the last sentence of the first paragraph of the Topical Report Evaluation
- ded with the words "as documented in Table 2-1 of NEDO-11209-04A.
Based on this understanding we are issuing NEDO-ll209-04A.
