l.
Responsibility
{
The responsibilities for implementing and maintaining an active Quality Assurance Program for the NAVELEXSYSENGCEN San Diego RADIAC Repair Facility are delegated as follows:
a.
The Radiation Safety Officer: is responsible for ensuring compliance with all current Quality Assurance and Radiation Safety Instructions and

directives.
b.
The RADIAC Repair Facility Personnel: are responsible for handling, storing, packaging, inspecting, transporting and record keeping for all shipments of Radioactive material in accordance with current instructions and directives.
c.
The RADIAC Coordinator: is responsible for providing the Radiation Safety Officer and RADIAC Repair Facility Personnel with all current Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Naval Electronic System Command in-structions and directives.
2.
Quality Assurance Training The Naval Electronics Systems Engineering Center, San Diego in establishing this Quality Assurance Program, shall ensure that all personnel assigned the responsi-bility to implement and monitor the Quality Assurance Program are availed the necessary training as required by Nuclear Regulatory Ce==ission and Commander Naval Electronic Systems Command directives. Training requirements are as follows:
a.
Radiation Safety Officer: successful completion of the Radiation Safety Officer Training Course #A-4J-0016 (80 nours) as provided by Naval Nuclear Poser Unit, Port Hueneme, California.
b.
RADIAC Repair Facility Personnel: successful completion of the RADIAC Instrument Maintenance Course #A-670-0020 as provided by Naval School Command at Treasure Island, California.
3.
Handling and Storage The provisions of the following documents will be adhered to in the handling and storage of all Radioactive Material:

Packac.ing, Inspecting and Transporting i
The provisions of the following documents will be adhered to in the packaging, inspecting and transporting of all Radioactive Material:

Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations-Parts 170 thru 189 c.
Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations-Part 103 d.
Title 46 Code of Federal Regulations-Part 146 e.
Title 39 Code of Federal Regulations-Parts 14 and 15 f.
NAVELEX INSTRUCTIONS 9673.2A and 9673.15 g.
other documents as may be required by the Radiation Safety Officer.
5.
Records Records of personnel training, insuections and shipping documentation will be maintained and posted at the NAVELA ;SYSENGCEN San Diego RADIAC Repair Facility in accordance with current Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations. These records will be maintained and updated to rt' lect current data, further they will be submitted to the RADIAC Coordinator ia the Radiation Safety Officer for semi annual review and should be made available to Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Naval Electronics Systems Command Representatives when so requested.
