Regarding the previous Federal Register Notice (published on August 23,1979 (44 FR 49527)) for the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards to be held en September 6-8, 1979, in Washington, D.C.,

changes in scheduling are indicated below.

Thursday, Sectember 6,1979 8:30 A.M. - 9:00 A.M.

Executive Session (0:en) - The Ccmmittee will hear and discuss the report of the ACRS Chairman regarding miscellaneous matters relating to ACRS activities.

9:00 A.M. - 12:00 Noon: Meeting with NRC Staff (Ocen) - The Com-mittee will hear and discuss a report by the NRC Staff regarding the implications of the accident which occurred at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant Unit 2.

1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M.-

Meeting with Stone and Webster Enginetring Corocration (Ocen) - The Committee will hear and discuss comments from representatives of the Stone and Webster Engineering Corpora-tion regarding the seismic design of nuclear power plant systems.

Portions of this session will be closed as necessary to f.iscuss Proprietary Information.

Meetino on Nuclear Operations Institute (0 pen) - Representatives of the Atomic Industrial Forum Policy Committee on Follow-up to the Three Mile Island Accident will brief the Committee regarding the proposed activities of the Nuclear Operations Institute.

3:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.-

Meeting with NRC Staff (0 pen) - The Com-mittee will hear and discuss a report regarding areas of poten-tially high stresses in the Mark I containment resulting from recent large scale test data.

4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.-

Executive Session (Ocen) - The Committee will hear and discuss the report of its Subcommittee on the review of Licensee Event Reports submitted by the cperators of commercially licensed nuclear power plants during the ceriod of 1976-78.

The Committee will discuss the status of action being taken to evalu-ate systems interactions at the Zion Nuclear Station and Indian Point Nuclear Plant Unit 3.

Friday, Sectember 7,1979 8:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M..

Three Mile Island Unit 2 Accident Imolica-tions (Ocen) - The Committeu will discuss underlying causes which contributed to the accid?nt which occurred at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2.

Executive Session (0 pen) - The Committee will hear and discuss the report of its Subcommittee Chairman regarding a proposed plan of action to review and evaluate the status of generic items which were listed in ACRS Report No. 7 dated March 21, 1979 as applicable to light-water nuclear reactors.

The Committee will discuss proposed ACRS recommendations to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission regarding implications of the accident which occurred at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2.

The Committee will discuss the proposed scope and organization of its annual report to Congress on the NRC Safety Research Program.

Saturday, September 8, 1979 8:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.

Executive Session (Ocen) - The Comr.ittee will discuss proposed ACRS comments and recommendations regaiding the implications of the accident which occurred at Three Mile Island 2 on March 28, 1979, its proposed report to the NRC regard-ing evaluation of Licensee Event Reports, and proposed ACRS position / comments regarding other matters discussed during this meeting.

The Committee will discuss proposed activities related to the develop-ment of quantitative risk criteria for nuclear facilities.

The Committec will discuss proposed resolution of Anticipated Tran-sients Without Scram for Boiling Water Reactors.
