Dear Sir:
We received a phone message from Mr. Percy Clemons, Region 1, which indicated that we have not responded to 10CFR71.51 regarding filing a Quality Assurance Plan for a shipping package.
At the present time we are listed as a user of a cask, # USA /5957/B () F, which hau a certificate of compliance
- 5957; but, we have no intent to use the cask.
We did ship spent research reactor fuel in it in 1974.
- However, with the new type of fuel presently in our reactor we could not re-use that package.
In addition, we do not contemplate shipping any fuel in the near future.
We discussed this with Mr. Clemons who discussed it with Mr. G.H.
Bittinc,er of NMSF.
We were advised to write this letter citing those calls and the above foundation for our belief that we need not respond regarding CFR71.51.
