River Eend Station Units 1 & 2 Docket Mos. 50 h58. 50 h59 In December your staff was notified of a pending reorgan-1:aticn of the Gulf States Utilities River Eend management. The staff was assured that the reorganisation would not affect the in-dependency of the quality Assurance group. As of January 1, 1930 the Directer-Quality Assurance reports directly to the Executive Vice President-River Eend Ho: lear Group. Also on that date, Mr. L.L.
Humphreys assumed that Executive Vice President position and he reports directly to the Chairnan of the Ecard.
In his new capacity, Mr. Humphreys' sole responsibility is the River Bend nuclear Group.
Also as of January 1,1930, Dr. J. G. Weigand assumed the position of Vice President-Operations and Technical Systens and he reports to "r.
Humphreys.
Dr. Weigand's responsibility is for River Eend plant operations, engineering, nuclear fuels and licensing.
Gulf States feel that this new organisational structure will continue to be respcnsive to the recuirements for designing, con-structing, and operating a nuclear power plant. All correspondence regarding the licensing of the station should continue to be addressed te me.
