Granville Road Worthington, Ohio 43085 Emergency planning around nuclear powered facilities has been widely discussed and publicized as a result of the recent significant activity in emergency planning by the nuclear industry, State, Local and Federal Government regulatory agencies. Emergency planning, as it relates to the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station has been studied extensively in recent months by Toledo Edison as well as State and Local Governments.

As a continuing part of this effort, a team from the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission is scheduled to conduct a local review of emergency planning relating to the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.

This review is scheduled for February 19, 20 and 21, 1980. The scope of the review will include planning for which State and Local Government agencies are responsible as well as Toledo Edison's responsibilities.

The general schedule for the on-site review is:

Tuesday, February 19, 1980 - A tour of the Davis-Besse plant and Emergency Control Center will be conducted in the morning.

In the afternoon the tour will then continue in Port Clinton where County and Local Government facilities will be reviewed. The tour group includes Local and State Government representatives.

Wednesday, February 20, 1980 - The NRC will conduct a technical review of emergency planning with Toledo Edison.

State and Local Government officials are invited to observe this session but will not be required to make presentations.

Thursday, February 21, 1980 - The NRC technical review with Toledo Edison is scheduled to continue through the morning.

In the afternoon the NRC will discuss emergency planning with the State and Local officials.

In the evening (7 to 9 p.m.) the NRC will receive public comments con-cerning emergency planning.

Please note that scheduled meetings for both February 20 and 21, 1980 will be open to the public. Meetings are scheduled to take place in the Ottawa County Court House.
