Pacific Gas and Electric Company Stanislaus Nuclear Project, Unit No. 1, NRC Docket No. P-564A

Dear Chairman Miller and Members of the Board:

By letter dated November 14, 1979, the NRC Staff informed the Board of its objections to the " Joint Statement of Southern California Edison Company and the State of California Department of Water Resources" concerning the subpoena duces tecum directed to Edison.

The Staff also advised the Board that it intended to discuss these objections with Edison in an attempt to resolve them without resort to a ruling by the Board.

The Si.aff is pleased to advise the Board that the Staff and Edison have reached agreement in principal on Edison's production of documents to the Staff in this proceeding. As soon as a written agreement is finalized, a copy will be submitted to the Board.

Very truly yours
