This refers to your application dated November 20, 1979 requesting approval of your Quality Assurance (QA) program as meeting the QA program requirements of 10 CFR 371.51.
In connection with our review, we need the information identified in the enclosure to this letter. Please submit seven copies of your response to the enclosed request for additional information within 30 days following receipt of this letter.

Provie a statement that personnel will be properly trained acccrding to written procedtres before performing QA activities.
2.
Designate someone (by position title) who will assure that all radioactive material shipping packages are designed and manufactured under a QA program approved by the NRC for all packages designed or aanufactured after the effective date of the USS Frank Cable's QA program.
(We note that this requirement can be satisfied by receiving a certification to this effect from the designer / manufacturer.)

Designate someone (by position title) who will assure that all QA functions-are conducted in accordance with the la. test applicable procedures.
4.
Provide statements that a) Shipments will not be made unless all tests, certifications, acceptances, and final inspections have been completed.
b)
Inspection, test, and operating status of special form radioactive material will be indicated by tag, label, marking, or log entry.
c) The status of nonconfoming parts or packages will be positively maintained in accordance with written procedures.
d) Deficient areas found by audits will be corrected.
