INTERROGATORY NO. 10-1:

Does Applicant currently maintain that none of the data listed in NUREG-0462, on failure of BWR safety-relief valves (SRVs) to open during operation (see text of Doherty Contention 17) apply to the valves it plans to use as SRVs at ACNGS?

RESPONSE

Yes.

Does Applicant maintain the design of its SRVs cannot be shown to have ever failed to operate properly up to this time?

Does Applicant maintain none of the doses calculated for isotopes of Xenon were exceeded at the Three Mile Island-2 (.TMI-2) accident?

The information available to Applicant indicates that 10 CFR Part 100 doses were never exceeded anytime during or after the TMI-2 incident.

Has Applicant relied en any NRC regulatory guide in calculating the dosage of radioactivity to individuals as required by 10 CFR 100.11 (a) (2)?

What changes (if any) have been made in the materials for the four systems listed above, since the SER (Nov. 197 4) ?

Some piping in the RHR system was changed from 304 to 304L.
