The Westinghouse family of BF relays was also the subject of a 1976 cir-cular (IE Circular 76-02) . This earlier circular triggered precautionary measures on the plant design. None of the Marble Hill safety-related specifications call for the use of BFD or NBFD type relays. To further confirm this position, notifications are being issued to all Marble Hill Class 1E suppliers requesting written confirmation that BFD and NBFD re-lays will not be used.

However, receipt of this information from our suppliers will require addi-tional time. We have been ir. formed by our architect-engineer (Sargent 6 Lundy) that receipt of this information will be completed in February,1980.

We therefore request an extension to March 1, 1980 for our response to this bulletin.
