57300, JOB E-5590 Gentlemen:

Your letter of November 27, 1979 indicated you had not yet received our response to IE Bulletin 79-19.

As suggested in your letter, correspondence does sometimes go astray.

It appears that is what happened in this case.

We did respond via letter dated September 25, 1979.

A copy is attached.

We believe this will resolve the matter.

Very truly yours, TIIE CINCINNATI GAS S ELECTRIC COMPANY

UNIT 1 - IE BULLETIN 79-19, DOCKET NO. 50-358, W.O.

57300, JOB E-5590 Gentlemen:

In response to the above, please be advised the Zimmer Plant has not yet generated any radioactive waste.

Initial fuel loading is scheduled for July, 1980.

We are maintaining sets of DOT and NRC regulations concerning transfers of radioactive waste.

We also have con-tacted waste burial firms requesting their requirements including their State Agreements and requirements imposed by their State.

We have received initial information and are working actively with these firms to identify detailed requirements now.

Plant radwaste procedures are being developed now.

We plan to incorporate all appropriate requirements of DOT, NRC and burial States.

Management audit of activities is planned.

Since the Zimmer Plant is not yet generating radwaste, we believe this response completes the requirements of IE Bulletin 79-19.

Very truly yours, THE CINCINNATI GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY p
